Could you be an HPA Board Member?

The future of the National Probation Service rests with people like you. People who are passionate about protecting the public, reducing re-offending – and helping ex-offenders back into meaningful roles within their communities.

To do this, it takes real leadership and strategic insight; people qualities and financial management; with the ability to drive change and enhance performance. It also takes an open mind, a commitment to celebrating diversity and, above all, the integrity and business acumen needed to make profound, results-oriented decisions that can create our future and turn individual offenders around.

If these are skills you possess and you can offer up to 2-5 days a month as a Board Member we would like to hear from you and in particular we would like to hear from disabled people and people from ethnic minority groups plus present or former local councillors, as they are under-represented on the Board.

The above hourly rate is exclusive of allowable expenses.

We operate from 4 modern centres (Stevenage, Hertford, St. Albans and Watford) which are well equipped to deliver a wide range of accredited programmes.

Centres are open until 9.30 pm and all staff must be able to work late evenings on a rota basis.

Hertfordshire Probation Area offers flexible working, contributory pension scheme, Benenden healthcare, generous annual leave allowance and Employee Assistance Programme.  Eligible employees will also be entitled to key worker housing payments/allowance.

The salaries quoted, unless otherwise stated, are for full-time posts, which equate to 37 hours per week.  Applications for part-time work would be welcome. A job evaluation process is currently being undertaken and this may have an affect on the salaries quoted.
