Community Payback offenders joined others in giving a St Albans community centre a makeover.

The Jubilee Community Centre, in St Catherine Street, is used by local residents for events, activities and advice clinics, and has five meeting rooms.

Hertfordshire Probation, whose Community Payback team, cleaned and painted the railings, was one of a number of organisations helping with the make-over. Staff from manufacturer Premier Foods painted and decorated the meeting rooms and refitted a kitchen.
